Zala county

Zala county awaits the visitors with abundant tourism opportunities!
Zala country comes to mind among people in every age of the famous spa in Hévíz, which is also referred to as the “Heaven of Rheumatic Patients”.
Festetics Castle, which is the third largest but most visited castle in Hungary, has also been included among the recommended places to visit (Picture 2).
However, it is not just the spas, castles, mansions and museums that make it worth traveling to the county.

The Béke Sztupa in Zalaszántó overlooks Lake Balaton from the 316-meter-high Világosvár hill. Buddha’s teachings, relics, and a 24-meter tree of life are found inside the Béke Sztupa.

The “Göcsej Village Museum” where the special open-air museum still tries to present the spesh geographical-historical landscape and the way of life of the people living here, has been opened its gate for the world in 1968.

Ferenc Deák, “The Wise Man of the Nation” was born in Söjtör in the country of Zala in 1803. The birthplace of the ancient noble family is in the center of the village. ?? (Picture 5)

Thanks to the endowment of the county, we can also choose from a wide range of hiking and trekking routes. We have the opportunity to roam the Keszthely Mountains or one of the most beautiful panoramic heights of the county, the Rezi Castle, which stands on the 426-meter-high Gay Hill.

The unique attraction of Zala county is the “Kápolnapuszta Buffalo Reserve”, where about 250 native buffaloes live.
